Middle School Admission Process

  • Please fill out the online inquiry form to receive an application packet. The information given will allow us to keep you current on upcoming events and deadlines.
  • If you are interested in enrolling you child for the 2013-2014 academic year or beyond, you will receive information about Westerly upon completing the online inquiry and application instructions at the appropriate time. 
Attend a community visit
  • Experiencing the Westerly campus firsthand will help you learn more about the Westerly community. We strongly recommend that at least one parent attends a community visit, but personal tours are also available. for dates and to schedule your visit, please click here.
Submit an application-
  • A completed Middle School Application includes the Parent Questionnaire and the Student Application for Admission.
  • The application should also be submitted along with a recent photograph of the student and the non-refundable $100 application fee. We encourage you to use the Admission Checklist to tell you where you are in completing your materials for the admission process.
  • All completed application submitted by the fourth Monday in January will be processed and received for admission for the following school year. Any application submitted after the deadline will be processed as space allows.
Request teacher recommendation forms and transcripts
  • Please submit the Request for School Records and Teacher (Math and English) Recommendation Form(s) with Westerly’s return envelope directly to the applicant’s current school.
  • All records and recommendations should be mailed directly from the applicant’s current school.
Schedule an shadow day
  • The shadow day is opportunity for the applicant to experience Westerly firsthand- to participate in a “think tank,” have lunch with potential classmates, and meet potential teachers/advisors.
  • Each applicant is paired with a currently Westerly student and will travel with the current student to his/her classes. During the Shadow Day the applicant will complete an academic skills screening focusing on math, writing, and reading comprehension.

  • To help us learn more about the applicant, he or she should bring a completed academic project to the shadow day and be prepared to discuss it.
Come in for a parent interview
  • After the application is received a person from the Admission Office will be contacting you to schedule a parent interview. The interview is an information share, we are getting to know your family and you are learning more about Westerly.
