Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) – is comprised of volunteers dedicated to providing support to Westerly by facilitating School events that provide educational and social opportunities for all members of the Westerly community to engage in. In addition, PTO recruits volunteers to participate in events and to raise funds to purchase gifts for Westerly to support program and campus improvements.

The PTO Executive Board consists of President, Vice President, Secretary, Communications Coordinator, Treasurer, Volunteer Coordinator and Executive Committee Members.

There are numerous events and areas where volunteers are needed Below are just a few of them. Take a look and if you are interested in helping with any of these, contact the advancement office at (562) 981-3151.

Room Parents

The PTO has a room parent for each grade and for each co-curricular. The room parent acts as a liaison between the teacher, the school, the PTO and the parents in their class. They coordinate small events that are held in the classroom and/or for the class, as well as relay important information from the PTO to the rest of the parents in the class. Being a room parent is a great way to get to know other parents and be involved in all aspects of the school.
