The Spanish curriculum follows the national standards set by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). Eighth grade curriculum covers chapters six through eight in the textbook Avancemos Level 1 as well as two readers one of which focuses on past tense conjugation and cognates . Target themes include sports, staying healthy, sending emails, phone call etiquette, daily routines and vacation activities.
