Thank you for considering investing in a Westerly education. We make every attempt to keep tuition and fees as low as possible for our students and their families.
The following outlines all major fees associated with your child’s year at Westerly.
Tuition & Fees
- Grades K-5: $25,660 (2024-2025)*
Includes testing and local field studies - Grades 6-8: $26,500 (2024-2025)*
Includes testing and local field studies - Reservation Deposit: $2,500** per student (non-refundable)
- New Family Fee: $1,000
*Tuition for the following school year is set each January. Historically, there has been a 3% increase in tuition per school year, which is typical of independent schools.
**The reservation deposit is reduced if the student receives a financial assistance award.
Instructional Resources
The instructional resources fee is used for class supplies, including textbooks, student supplies (e.g. notebooks), and other educational materials. Your student will need to bring just a backpack and lunch to school.
- Grades K-2: $400
- Grades 3-4: $600
- Grades 5: $700
- Grades 6-8: $800
Overnight Field Studies
Beginning in 4th grade, your child is able to participate in overnight field studies. Younger grades have stayed close to home, for instance venturing to local aquariums, museums, nature centers, etc. Older students tend to travel further. As an example, our 8th graders have traveled to various destinations over the years, such as Nicaragua, Mexico, and Hawaii and participated in service learning opportunities with local schools.
Fees for these trips are as follows:
- Grades 4-7: $450 (approximate)
- Grade 8: $3,000 (approximate)
Payment Plans
Please note: A 1% fee is billed for payments not received by the due date. A $20 fee will be due for returned tuition checks (e.g. due to lack of funds).
- Full Payment: After the reservation deposit is paid, the balance is paid in full in June.
- Three-Payment: After the reservation deposit is paid, the balance is divided into three equal payments over the course of nine months, typically in June, October, and February. For step-by-step instructions to set up your payment account, please click here.

Before and After Care
- Before-school care is available at no charge beginning at 7:40am daily at no charge.
- After-school care is available until 6pm. Please see pricing and program information here.
